The Good Samaritan Mountain View Centre opened in Hinton in 2002. Recently, the facility was converted from continuing care/supportive housing to Designated Assisted Living (DAL) to better serve the Hinton community. This facility is adjacent to the Hinton Hospital and is linked via a pedway on the second floor.
DAL is a program that offers a high level of continuing care in an assisted living environment. Staff in these facilities, partnering with Aspen Health Region nurses and rehabilitation staff, enable medical and social support to be provided to seniors with high care needs offering and approved and proven alternative to traditional nursing home care.
Residents furnish their suites with their own belongings. Residents pay rent, which includes, three meals, housekeeping and linen services, TeleCare (an emergency response service).
