Dr. Gerald Zetter Care Centre, formerly Auxiliary Hospital, was rebuilt in 1988. In 1999, the Auxiliary Hospital was renamed to honor Dr. Zetter who served as Chief of Medical Staff at The Good Samaritan Society for 25 years from 1974 to 1999.

This facility has designated vacation/respite beds, these beds are for short-term admission of people who are normally cared for at home. This allows the caregiver a rest or vacation for a short period of time. Admission into these beds is coordinated through Capital Health Authority Central Placement Services at 496-7500.

The sub-acute rehabilitation beds are for individuals who require intensive rehabilitation and are limited to a 9 month maximum length of stay.

The designated Tracheostomy beds are designed to care for those individuals with high complex care needs requiring assistance of an artificial airway for breathing.

The Community Rehabilitation Program (CRP) offers out-patient physiotherapy. It is available to the public to assist individuals in achieving their maximal physical capabilities. Appointments can be made by calling 431-3633.
