Shawn comes to us from Norquest College where he was Vice President of College Services & Chief Financial Officer.  He has over 20 years senior management experience in large complex organizations in which he spent 13 of these years leading health regions in Saskatchewan, Alberta and British Columbia.  Prior to the formation of Alberta Health Services Shawn was President and CEO of Peace Country Health.

Shawn received his Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Victoria. He is a Certified Management Accountant through the Society of Management Accountants of BC, and a Certified Health Executive through the Canadian College of Health Service Executives.

The purpose of the Pastoral Care Visitor Training is to provide a basic understanding of Pastoral Care given to hospital patients, continuing care and assisted living residents, community shut-ins and congregation members.  The training may be of interest to caregivers, church leaders, clergy, and many more.  The program consists of six modules which are completed over the course of two days.  Certificates are awarded upon completion of the program.  A registration fee is applicable and includes all workshop materials.

The Spirituality and Wholeness Workshops are held annually and are coordinated through the Mission Effectiveness department of The Good Samaritan Society.  Workshops are held in Edmonton and Lethbridge, Alberta and in Kelowna, British Columbia. Registration will commence late Spring.

As a charitable organization, The Good Samaritan Society relies on the generosity of donors like you to provide much needed equipment that is not funded through government support.  Equipment such as electric beds and lifts make the lives of our clients and residents better while at the same time provide safety and support to our valued employees. With your support we can purchase items for recreation/social activites to enhance the lives of our clients and residents.
