Endowment Funds

The Good Samaritan Society has endowment funds which donations can be directed to.  Donations are held in trust and only a portion of the interest earned is used to give strength and stability to needed services.  A gift to our endowment funds is a gift that continues to keep giving.  Our endowment funds are:

  • The Good Samaritan Fund: This is our major fund and carries our basic determination to give strength, stability and a future to our care giving programs. The fund provides financial resources to support our cognitive care programs including housing research and design for Alzheimer residents, as well as begin new programs such as our Adult Day Programs, which address a growing need in our society. The funds may also finance capital projects such as homes for adults with multiple disabilities, thereby allowing them to function within the community and fulfill many of their own needs.

  • Bert Boren Fund: This fund provides resident care comforts and enhancements across The Society’s services. The fund has contributed to the purchase of furnishing and enhancements for our homes.

  • Pastoral Care Endowment Fund: The Society recognizes the importance of spiritual expression as a key to holistic care for our residents. This fund ensures ongoing spiritual care to residents and their families by our chaplains and fulfills special needs within our pastoral care programs. Pastoral Care is not a program directly funded by the health authority; therefore we rely on the fund to provide these services.

  • Phil Gaudet Research and Innovation Fund: A step in providing quality care and compassion is through the training and expertise of our staff and volunteers. The Research and Education Fund provides financial resources for the ongoing educational and training programs for caregivers working within The Society.

  • Hardship Fund: This fund includes home support services, which extends the opportunity for elderly or disabled individuals that are financially distressed to remain at home in a familiar environment and receive help and support.
