Mission Effectiveness

Since its inception, The Good Samaritan Society has found its core identity in the parable of the Good Samaritan that tells the story of the Samaritan reaching out to a stranger in a spirit of compassion.

The founders of The Good Samaritan Society were inspired by this desire to love and serve their neighbour. Today, our mission remains the same, to “extend Christian Hospitality through a continuum of care to those in need or at risk, regardless of religious belief.” The role of the Department of Mission Effectiveness is to integrate the Mission & Values into the life of The Society.

We do this by:

  1. Strengthening the spiritual and religious aspects of holistic care;
  2. Cultivating and supporting an ethical culture; and
  3. Building relationships with the Lutheran community and community-at-large.
